Paulus Wanrooij is a woodworker who grew up in The Netherlands. He came to the United States on vacation in 1993, where he met his wife and decided to stay. After his career behind an office desk, he decided to head to college for woodworking. Around 7 months later, he left to pursue his new career without any further instruction. They went on an exploration and ended up in Maine, where he now resides in Harpswell and owns Paulus Furniture. Interview by Tiana Hayvis.
Voices of the Arts is the harpswellstories project for 2017-18 academic year. Students at Harpswell Coastal Academy worked with teachers Galen Koch and Phelan Gallagher to produce these stories examining the role of the arts in coastal Maine. This work was supported by a generous grant by Holbrook Community Foundation.
