Dave Hackett was born and raised in Harpswell, Maine. The house he grew up in was filled with old objects his ancestors had brought back from their travels. He works at Harpswell Historical Society and lives just down the road on Lookout Point. He has only lived in two houses his entire life and they are only a five minute walk apart and a five minute walk from the historical society. He spoke to us about the importance of historical objects for many reasons – they show the history of the town and area and what life was like and how the world is changing.
Story and interview by Alex Namer and Oscar Hadjaissa.
