Ben Martens is the Executive Director of The Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association, a non-profit trying to bridge the gap between fishing policy and the fishermen of Maine whom it affects. The Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association aids local fishermen in the understanding of current fishing policy and regulations in order to help them grow their businesses for a better economy, while at the same time giving recommendations on how fishermen could best protect the resources that they rely on. In this interview Ben Martens explains his childhood ties to our state and coastal communities. He also shares his opinion on what needs to happen in order to protect the fishing communities.
